PERFECT SNAPBACK
PL CLOTHING
Caps have been trending lately. We haven't seen this many caps on the streets since Jordan had control over the complete NBA. But things have changed and they're cool again. We don't wear 'em that often, and if we do, it has to be a 'perfect' cap.

7EVENTHIRTY T-SHIRTS
NEW FROM THE NETHERLANDS
Our inbox get's spammed with new brands every week. Most of the time these emails are not even worth reading because we know fashion is a harsch business and not many brands succeed to stay afloat. When we heard about 7EVENTHIRTY things we're different. This is something we believe in.
The first collection for these boys from Amsterdam - with Ibiza roots - is available right now. They send us a sample and hoped we would write something about it. Well, as you can see we do so this means the sample satisfies.
The price for a t-shirt is a bit steep if you ask us. This means you have to deliver on a different level. The quality has to be spot on. And after the first tumble in our washer the shirt looks pretty much the same. So it seems they got this covered. Interested? Check out the links below en pick out your favorite.

CLARK’S DESERT GUARD
FALL/WINTER 2012
We've always been long time fans of Clarks and it's ageless shoes. It seems like they are always on top of their designing game. A few days ago they presented their new Desert Guard boots, and they look awesome!
It's an interesting restyling of the iconic model Nathan Clark of the British army introduced in 1949. The Guard Desert is distinction by the profile sewn leather on the upper, a small detail that gives the shoe ‘more elegant and refined than usual.

THE GEAR BAG
BEST MADE COMPANY
We're pretty picky when it comes to our bags. And we're proud if that. So, when we come across one that we actually like, it's definitely worth sharing with you guys.
Take a look at this one from Beste Made Company. It's called The Gear Bag and that's for a whole bunch of reasons. The design is pretty simple, but is has some 'gutsy' construction. For instance, the high visibility red grab-handles are made of 10,000 lb tensile strength kevlar. More information after the click.

THE LIFESTYLE OF ALBERT VISSER
FEW VS MANY INTERVIEW
Name: Albert Visser
Age: 28
Residence: Urk
Marital status: Married
Profession: Marketing Manager FreshCotton
Strongest point: I've got a lot of love for the internet. I'm part of the first generation that grew up with the internet and I can still remember the day we got it at home, which made a big impression on me. This reverence is one of my strongest points.
Weakest point: I'm always all over the place, which sometimes results in a lack of focus.
How did it all start: Ten years ago we started as an t-shirt selling company. Back in the days e-commerce was pretty new. So we’ve gained a lot of attention from the media. And that attracted new business as Top-Notch, they wanted us for selling artist merchandise. Over time we began selling shoes, caps and sweaters. And that was growing to store as it is today, a full fashion store somewhere between streetwear and gentlemen’s clothing.
How is it going right now: It's going perfect. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our women's department a couple of years ago but it's really cool how we turned into a real men's shop. We’re a fast growing company in an very exiting environment.
What does the future look like: Everything is online, everything will be online. The entire online shop world isn't at the end of it's revolution, it is just the beginning. I'm really curious to see where we all stand in 5 years. I wouldn't dare to say, in any case.
Favorite sport: Running
Favorite game: The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow. And preferably the role of narrator.
Favorite commercial: I'm a big Nike fan. The currently running 'My Time Is Now' campagne gives me goosebumps, yes. Just like they did the #makeitcount campagne for running. The amount of emotion they can put in a campagne is unmatched.
Favorite music: I'm a sucker for depressing guardrail-music from the end of the 70's and the 80's. The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, Talking Heads, Bauhaus, OMD, Cure and Killing Joke.
Favorite restaurant: My favorite restaurant is a hotel restaurant. Specifically, the Kurzaal in the Kurhaus in Scheveningen, The Hague. I'm not gonna say you'll get the best food in the world there but the atmosphere in the gigantic ballroom is really impressive. It has this 60's beach vibe. Beautiful. Every time I'm there it reminds me of this.
Favorite hotel: When I was still in school I worked in several different restaurants so I've seen a lot of hotels front to back. In the Netherlands there's not much that can top Des Indes in The Hague. Pricy, but worth it.
Favorite club/bar: I'm not much of a clubjunkie, it's a shame it's impossible to enjoy some good banter in a club most of the time. Plus, I don't smoke anymore so escaping to the smoking area is also impossible. I prefer the benches next to the Groovetube at Lowlands. Always something happening there.
Favorite gadget: I'm pretty attached to my Samsung SII. A super fast phone and nearly indestructible. Often gravity gets in the way with me.
Favorite clothing brand: I can't decide between Carhartt and WoodWood. Both brands deliver great designs in my opinion.WoodWood always takes it a litter further in pushing boundaries there but Carhartt offers a lot more on quality. I can't choose between solid and nextlevel.

THE LIFESTYLE OF DAVE HENDRIKS
FEW VS MANY INTERVIEW
Name: Dave Hendriks
Age: 26
Residence: Rotterdam
Marital status: Single
Profession: Co-founder & CCO VICO
Strongest point: See opportunities in the smallest things.
Weakest point: Sometimes I want to go too fast.
How did it all start: VICO started 15 months ago. We saw a lot of vintage and retro in the fashion industry and we thought “we want to do it different”. We had the dream to start a new brand from scratch and build it. A brand which inspires people not to look back but to move forward. We take inspiration from great neighborhoods around the globe, cool hotspots we love. We like to travel and to share this. VICO is derived from the Latin word "vicus", which stands for ‘in the street’ or ‘in the neighbourhood’. This is where VICO was born.
We’ve found a good family factory in Portugal. The owner believed in our project from the start and we made a first collection together with our Italian designer Patrick and the rest of the VICO team. With this team we are making a collection which is 100% Made in Europe. We believe that quality is important and therefore also all our materials are from European suppliers. In June 2011 we showed our concept to some of the best buyers in the Netherlands and they were very enthusiastic. We delivered our first production in January 2012 to 40 selected stores in the Netherlands and 3 selected stores in Belgium. This is in a nutshell how our journey started.
How is it going right now: If we could have signed a contract 12 months ago that we would have done it like this with VICO, we definitely would have done it. We are doing very good and we are happy. Of course, there is always enough to improve and to grow.
What does the future look like: I don’t know what the future looks like. I think nobody does at the moment, but I know where we want to go. We put all our effort in building an international stable and honest brand. And keep the independent mind we have now. But to go there, we need to have patience. Patience is an important factor when you build a brand.
Favorite sport: Boxing, running, football
Favorite game: Risk
Favorite commercial: Citroen DS3 commercial. Here you see a voice over of John Lennon saying that copying the 60’s and the 70’s isn’t Rock and Roll anymore. Do something of your own, start something new and live your life now. ANTI RETRO. This commercial is related to the start of VICO.
Favorite music: Hiphop, Soul, House, Techno
Favorite restaurant: LuLu (Rotterdam). The food is great and the atmosphere even more. It is very relaxed and you sit on lounge couches without your shoes on.
Favorite hotel: Mama Shelter (Paris). I like the design.
Favorite club/bar: Club IndoChine (Zurich). June 20 2010, a night to remember.
Favorite gadget: Travelling notebook.
Favorite clothing brand: Folk, A.P.C. and Paul Smith.
Anything else: I think it is important that people follow their heart and chase their dreams. Create something, do the things you love and move forward.

Profession: Partner/Managing Director at Travelteq
Strongest point: Inpatient
Weakest point: I can be very inpatient
How did it all start: It al started with the idea to create the Trip suitcase. A suitcase that can easily transform into a chair. This was a product that we missed during our Travels. In the period of developing the Trip suitcase we also decided to see what else we missed. A laptop bag that is both functional, high quality and timeless designed. We went to Italy and designed our first laptop bag the Trash. We sourced the finest vegetable tanned Florentine Vacchetta leather. The bags are all produced by hand in our little factory in Tuscany. From that moment on we created a whole product line of leather bags and accessories convenient for travel. We decided to sell online only, with great success. We are a team of 4 travel and lifestyle passionates based in Amsterdam.
How is it going right now: Travelteq is all about Smart Traveling. Traveling with smart products and looking smart. At the moment we are slowly introducing our Smart Travel Apparel. Varying from a reversible nylon travel jacket, anti crease shirts and a fast drying swim short. We recently even crowd sourced our first product with great success. This hadn’t been done yet with a lifestyle product like this. The Travel Jacket has been a great success so far.
What does the future look like: We intend to create a whole range of smart travel products. Our online presence is great. But this year we will be also going into retail worldwide. As many people and stores have requested our products. Eventually we may be opening our own flagships stores in the major cities.
Favorite sport: My new favorite sport is surfing. So far I suck at it.
Favorite game: Risk
Favorite commercial: Old Spice viral
Favorite music: Oliver Mutukudzi
Favorite restaurant: Zuma in London. Freshest fish and best lamb chops in the world.
Favorite hotel: Standard Hotel in New York. When Travelteq was only a couple of months old the bellboy in the lift pointed out to my bag and said: “I love this brand. It’s from Amsterdam, right?”. Also the hotel is perfect. Great rooms, best club, a bistrot how it should be and delicious burgers.
Favorite club/bar: Paradiso Amsterdam
Favorite gadget: I never thought I would say this, but I guess it’s my iphone.
Favorite clothing brand: Other than our smart traveling apparel, I’m a great fan of Velour
