996 NATIONAL PARKS
With every adventure you need a decent pair of sneakers. New Balance have long been one of our favorite brands. Why? Because the shoes fit like a glove the moment you put them on your feet.
These 996 National Parks aren't really new or something. It's just the colorway that's new to us. And we like it a lot. The shoes are made of suede/mesh upper and have a non-marking outsole.

FEW VS UNDSCVRD
INTERVIEW WITH MATT TIELMAN
Name: Matt Tielman
Marital status: In a relationship
Profession: Founder/ Owner of Undscvrd
Strongest point: Unique focus on exclusive bags and accessories for men
How did it al started: I always had a special interest in bags. I was always searching for special brands with a unique vision on their products. This taught me that there are a lot of amazing brands out there. I found them via specialty blogs and websites, but there wasn't a store that collected all these. The men's bag market needed a curator. And when I couldn't find one, I decided to become that curator myself.
How is it going right now: I have just welcomed a managing partner to the company so I can focus on what I do best; finding cool brands. The company became too big for just me alone. And we are moving to a cool new office in the north of Amsterdam in 2 weeks. So its all good things at the moment. :)
What does the future look like: We will be adding a bunch of new brands soon and will keep doing so in the future. We are also putting more focus on foreign markets like the UK, Germany, France. When we look a bit further down the road we're thinking offline retail and expansion into Asia.
Favorite sport: To practice: Karate and running. To watch: Football
Favorite game: All Metal Gear Solid titles
Favorite commercial: Nike/ Jordan 'Failure'
Favorite music: My taste is pretty eclectic. But my playlists show a lot of singer/songwriter and indie bands at the moment.
Favorite hotel: Anywhere the weather is good…
Favorite restaurant: Spotted Pig in New York. Those burgers man…
Favorite club/bar: The one my friends are at
Favorite gadget: iPhone
Favorite clothing brand: Thom Browne, Bottega Veneta. And stuff I can actually afford: Acne, APC.
NYLON WASH BAG
Travelteq keeps reminding us why they're one of the coolest brands around. And that's not because they're just as Dutch as we are. It's because they just keep releasing amazing products. Like this Nylon Wash Bag.
You know just like we do that your favorite shaving gear and other grooming stuff needs to be packed careful and stylish. Leave a problem like this to the guys at Travelteq. For this one they even joined forces with number one cosmetics store in The Netherlands called Skins. It's a bit pricey but we know it's of the highest quality.

Our next trip takes place in less than 5 weeks and we just can’t wait any longer. We’ve been planning for so long now and it’s finally getting closer. By now, most of you know we’ll be visiting Bali and one of the things we’ll be doing over there is of course surf.
Now we grew up during the early 90’s. We watched Jaws at a pretty time (we where vulnerable for these kinda movies). Even since we’ve been really spooky with dark spots when taking a rest on our surfboard staring for good swells. We can’t help it.
Now we understand that surfing in a iron suit like that superhero from Marvel isn’t really an option. But the guys from Radiator created something quite similar and appeals to us very much. They are called Shark Deterrent Wetsuits and are made to scare shark away... Wait, what?
According to Radiator studies have shown that vision is the crucial sense in the final phase of a shark attack. Sharks only see in black and white but their perception of shading is very and impacted by the ‘reflective spectrum’ in the water. So, they created wetsuits which will confuse sharks and that makes it a whole less possible for you to be seen as a nice snack.
Pretty cool right? We might buy one of these just to make extra sure we don’t come across one of these beasts while in Bali. Because if we do (even if we spot a real fin or something), we don’t think we’ll ever again spent time in the ocean.
Price: USD 450

SPRING SUMMER 2013
Wowzers! Jack Flynn hits the net with his all new Spring Summer collection for 2013 and it looks amazing! We can't hide for this one because the bright colors from this lookbook will find us wherever we are. Not that we mind though...
Caps have been trending lately. We haven't seen this many caps on the streets since Jordan had control over the complete NBA. But things have changed and they're cool again. We don't wear 'em that often, and if we do, it has to be a 'perfect' cap.
VICO GOES MEDITERRANEE
SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION FROM VICO MOVEMENT
One of our favorite shoe brands VICO present their latest collection called 'La Mediterranee'. These spring/summer shoes look ridiculously cool and are a must have if you ask us.

NEW FROM THE NETHERLANDS
Our inbox get's spammed with new brands every week. Most of the time these emails are not even worth reading because we know fashion is a harsch business and not many brands succeed to stay afloat. When we heard about 7EVENTHIRTY things we're different. This is something we believe in.
The first collection for these boys from Amsterdam - with Ibiza roots - is available right now. They send us a sample and hoped we would write something about it. Well, as you can see we do so this means the sample satisfies.
The price for a t-shirt is a bit steep if you ask us. This means you have to deliver on a different level. The quality has to be spot on. And after the first tumble in our washer the shirt looks pretty much the same. So it seems they got this covered. Interested? Check out the links below en pick out your favorite.

CLARK’S DESERT GUARD
We've always been long time fans of Clarks and it's ageless shoes. It seems like they are always on top of their designing game. A few days ago they presented their new Desert Guard boots, and they look awesome!
It's an interesting restyling of the iconic model Nathan Clark of the British army introduced in 1949. The Guard Desert is distinction by the profile sewn leather on the upper, a small detail that gives the shoe ‘more elegant and refined than usual.

The great minds over at the Dutch Travelteq have come up with something new. Something which they didn't have in the family. They came up with the Weekender, a nylon bag that's specifically made for weekend trips.
The bag is made out of nylon and has leather handles, straps and seams. Each bag is handmade in Italy and weighs 1 Kg. It has 2 zipped compartments where you can stash away stuff that's important to you. So, if you don't have a bag for you next weekend trip, this should be the one to consider.

LARGE CLIMB PACK
Every now and then we come across something we fell in love with instanly. When these new bags from Epperson Mountaineering popped up on our screen we immediately needed one. Or two.
The bags are made in a special workshop in Libby, Montana. Fabrics such as leather and cordura nylon are tried and tested before used in one of their awesome products. The brand doesn't (yet) have a internet website because they exist way before the internet hype. But, that doesn't mean you can't order them online. Follow the clicks below if you're just as enthusiastic as we!

THE GEAR BAG
BEST MADE COMPANY
We're pretty picky when it comes to our bags. And we're proud if that. So, when we come across one that we actually like, it's definitely worth sharing with you guys.
Take a look at this one from Beste Made Company. It's called The Gear Bag and that's for a whole bunch of reasons. The design is pretty simple, but is has some 'gutsy' construction. For instance, the high visibility red grab-handles are made of 10,000 lb tensile strength kevlar. More information after the click.

THE LIFESTYLE OF ALBERT VISSER
FEW VS MANY INTERVIEW
Name: Albert Visser
Marital status: Married
Profession: Marketing Manager FreshCotton
Strongest point: I've got a lot of love for the internet. I'm part of the first generation that grew up with the internet and I can still remember the day we got it at home, which made a big impression on me. This reverence is one of my strongest points.
Weakest point: I'm always all over the place, which sometimes results in a lack of focus.
How did it all start: Ten years ago we started as an t-shirt selling company. Back in the days e-commerce was pretty new. So we’ve gained a lot of attention from the media. And that attracted new business as Top-Notch, they wanted us for selling artist merchandise. Over time we began selling shoes, caps and sweaters. And that was growing to store as it is today, a full fashion store somewhere between streetwear and gentlemen’s clothing.
How is it going right now: It's going perfect. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to our women's department a couple of years ago but it's really cool how we turned into a real men's shop. We’re a fast growing company in an very exiting environment.
What does the future look like: Everything is online, everything will be online. The entire online shop world isn't at the end of it's revolution, it is just the beginning. I'm really curious to see where we all stand in 5 years. I wouldn't dare to say, in any case.
Favorite sport: Running
Favorite game: The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow. And preferably the role of narrator.
Favorite commercial: I'm a big Nike fan. The currently running 'My Time Is Now' campagne gives me goosebumps, yes. Just like they did the #makeitcount campagne for running. The amount of emotion they can put in a campagne is unmatched.
Favorite music: I'm a sucker for depressing guardrail-music from the end of the 70's and the 80's. The Smiths, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, Talking Heads, Bauhaus, OMD, Cure and Killing Joke.
Favorite restaurant: My favorite restaurant is a hotel restaurant. Specifically, the Kurzaal in the Kurhaus in Scheveningen, The Hague. I'm not gonna say you'll get the best food in the world there but the atmosphere in the gigantic ballroom is really impressive. It has this 60's beach vibe. Beautiful. Every time I'm there it reminds me of this.
Favorite hotel: When I was still in school I worked in several different restaurants so I've seen a lot of hotels front to back. In the Netherlands there's not much that can top Des Indes in The Hague. Pricy, but worth it.
Favorite club/bar: I'm not much of a clubjunkie, it's a shame it's impossible to enjoy some good banter in a club most of the time. Plus, I don't smoke anymore so escaping to the smoking area is also impossible. I prefer the benches next to the Groovetube at Lowlands. Always something happening there.
Favorite gadget: I'm pretty attached to my Samsung SII. A super fast phone and nearly indestructible. Often gravity gets in the way with me.
Favorite clothing brand: I can't decide between Carhartt and WoodWood. Both brands deliver great designs in my opinion.WoodWood always takes it a litter further in pushing boundaries there but Carhartt offers a lot more on quality. I can't choose between solid and nextlevel.
TEES FROM WACHINGTON DC
Everyone once in a while we come across a brand we've never heard before but looks so frikkin' cool that we just have to order a sample. It happned with Borgata DC and we would like to share this with you, if you don't mind.
Borgata DC is a brand that believes in doing things a bit different. The brand, hailing from Washington DC, makes everything by hand. They are specialized in trendy pocket tee's but with a twist... The pockets are not made of regular cotton but premium types of canvas. Very cool right? Great looking tees and they're not expensive.
Price: EUR 40

THE LIFESTYLE OF DAVE HENDRIKS
FEW VS MANY INTERVIEW
Name: Dave Hendriks
Marital status: Single
Profession: Co-founder & CCO VICO
Strongest point: See opportunities in the smallest things.
Weakest point: Sometimes I want to go too fast.
How did it all start: VICO started 15 months ago. We saw a lot of vintage and retro in the fashion industry and we thought “we want to do it different”. We had the dream to start a new brand from scratch and build it. A brand which inspires people not to look back but to move forward. We take inspiration from great neighborhoods around the globe, cool hotspots we love. We like to travel and to share this. VICO is derived from the Latin word "vicus", which stands for ‘in the street’ or ‘in the neighbourhood’. This is where VICO was born.
We’ve found a good family factory in Portugal. The owner believed in our project from the start and we made a first collection together with our Italian designer Patrick and the rest of the VICO team. With this team we are making a collection which is 100% Made in Europe. We believe that quality is important and therefore also all our materials are from European suppliers. In June 2011 we showed our concept to some of the best buyers in the Netherlands and they were very enthusiastic. We delivered our first production in January 2012 to 40 selected stores in the Netherlands and 3 selected stores in Belgium. This is in a nutshell how our journey started.
How is it going right now: If we could have signed a contract 12 months ago that we would have done it like this with VICO, we definitely would have done it. We are doing very good and we are happy. Of course, there is always enough to improve and to grow.
What does the future look like: I don’t know what the future looks like. I think nobody does at the moment, but I know where we want to go. We put all our effort in building an international stable and honest brand. And keep the independent mind we have now. But to go there, we need to have patience. Patience is an important factor when you build a brand.
Favorite sport: Boxing, running, football
Favorite game: Risk
Favorite commercial: Citroen DS3 commercial. Here you see a voice over of John Lennon saying that copying the 60’s and the 70’s isn’t Rock and Roll anymore. Do something of your own, start something new and live your life now. ANTI RETRO. This commercial is related to the start of VICO.
Favorite music: Hiphop, Soul, House, Techno
Favorite restaurant: LuLu (Rotterdam). The food is great and the atmosphere even more. It is very relaxed and you sit on lounge couches without your shoes on.
Favorite hotel: Mama Shelter (Paris). I like the design.
Favorite club/bar: Club IndoChine (Zurich). June 20 2010, a night to remember.
Favorite gadget: Travelling notebook.
Favorite clothing brand: Folk, A.P.C. and Paul Smith.
Anything else: I think it is important that people follow their heart and chase their dreams. Create something, do the things you love and move forward.
